Dedicated to the memory of Isla Sheedy, Isla House (Greenslopes) was built in 1990 on the corner of Juliette and Bunya Streets in Greenslopes, Queensland. The modern two-story, 16-room facility was established to accommodate outpatients, their families and carers in a relaxed and friendly ‘guesthouse’ style environment.

Our reputation of being a ‘home away from home’ comes from our attention to detail and quality of service in facilitating a warm and homely, family atmosphere.

The need for this facility is a reflection on the vast distances faced by country Queenslanders in seeking medical specialists and treatment.

Isla House differs from other accommodation places as the shared spaces promote friendly social interactions, allowing people to support other people. It is not uncommon for guests to reconnect with long lost friends here!

In 2008, Isla House was renovated and refurbished to include a new lounge room, updated kitchens and air-conditioning in all rooms.

The current operators of Isla House, Seng, has been in charge since 2010.

In July 2015, Isla House welcomed a two-story 12-room facility at 63 Cornwall Street, Annerley, opposite the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s (PAH) emergency department. Continuing our dedication, the two locations are renamed as ‘Isla House Greenslopes’ and ‘Isla House PA’.
